A Canadian Girl Guides certificate for the registration of the Second Applewood Brownie Pack. The certificate is printed on beige paper with brown ink. The certificate is signed by Chief Commissioner Mary Nesbitt and is dated to October 14, 1954. |
History |
1954 was a big year for Applewood Guiding. On October 1, 1954, the 1st Applewood Guide Company was formed and held meetings at the Applewood United Church. Two weeks later, on October 14th, 1945, the 2nd Applewood Brownie Pack was formed as evidenced by this registration certificate. By 1964, there were two leaders of the Brownie Pack, namely Beth Boyce and Betty Aggerholm. In 1962, they joined the newly-founded White Oaks Area, in the Peel Central Division. The Peel Central District eventually grew to include four Brownie Packs, four Guide companies and a Ranger unit by 1966. |
