Description |
A sympathy card addressed to Wilmer Greeniaus and his father, Norman Greeniaus, from the McKee family. The sympathy card is for the passing of Wilmer's mother, Ethel Irene Greeniaus (nee Hamilton). The cover reads, "With Sincere Sympathy", while the inside reads: Left: "Dearest Wilmer: / We were so sorry to hear of your Mom passing away. You will miss her very much, but know you will be a comfort to your Dad: / Please give our sincere sympathy to your brother and his family. / Much Love, the McKees" Right: "Dear Wilmer and Mr. Greeniaus: / May it help to know that friends will often think of you, not only at this troubled time, but in days that follow, too. / Julie, Jim, Cheryl, Howard and Rebecca McKee". |
History |
Ethel Irene Hamilton (1885-1962) was the daughter of John Hamilton and his first wife, Rebecca Ann Cordingley. She married Norman Pomeroy Greeniaus (1876-1970) on March 12, 1913, in Toronto Township, Ontario. They had four children during their marriage, including Wilmer Kenney Greeniaus (1918-2006). She died on May 5, 1962, in Peel, Ontario and was buried at Springcreek Cemetery, Mississauga. This sympathy card was addressed to Ethel's son Wilmer and her husband, Norman Pomeroy Greeniaus. |
