A four-fold brochure titled "Mississauga Public Library Burnhamthorpe District Branch 1976". The brochure is on beige paper with red and blue lettering. On the front and back cover of the brochure is a line drawing of the library. There is a section about "The Building as a Library" by Noel Ryan, librarian. There is another section about "The Library as a Building" by Raymond Moriyama, Architects and Planners. The last section has details on the location, entrance, area of building, book storage, clients and project team. |
History |
Burnhamthorpe Library opened on October 3, 1976 and is one of Mississauga’s oldest and largest libraries. It was originally designed by renowned architect, Raymond Moriyama, and renovated in 2011. It is interesting to note that the library location is the same but the address has changed from 1350 Burnhamthorpe Road E. to 3650 Dixie Road in Mississauga. Burnhamthorpe Library offers an accessible and comfortable space for all visitors, including a fireplace lounge area, and has a wide variety of materials that can be borrowed. |
