A green hard-cover book entitled, "Brother and Sister's Vacation" by Josephine Lawrence. On the inside cover, there is a handwritten inscription that reads, "Awarded to / Hazel Journeau / for having taken the / highest number of class / marks. Grade III. / E. Lawrence. / June, 1931". |
History |
The person that the inscription on this book is referring to is former Mississauga mayor, Hazel McCallion (nee Journeaux). Hazel was mayor of the City of Mississauga from 1978 to 2014. Hazel was born in Port Daniel, Quebec, in 1921 and went to school in Quebec City and Montreal. While she was in school in Montreal she played professional women's hockey. |
