History |
This certificate of recognition was presented to the Girl Guides of Canada's Credit River Division, which has a long history in Mississauga. One of the first guide camps in Canada was along the Credit River banks in 1910. Prior to the formation of the White Oaks Area in 1962, Credit River guides were part of the Peel South Division. Upon the creation of the White Oaks Area, these guides were formed under the Mississauga Division until 1970 when the Credit River Division was formed. Over the years, various Division Commissioners have run the Credit River including Carol Henderson (1971-1974), Dolores O'Neil (1974-1979), Elizabeth McGroarty (1979-1981), Dorothy "Dot" Krush (1981-1982), Patricia Gardiner (1983-1986), among others. |
