Biography |
Eliza Thorton Sloan was born on May 16, 1864, in Equesing Township, Halton, Ontario. She was the daughter of Robert Sloan and Elizabeth Leslie, who lived on Lot 22, Con. 10 New Survey, Equesing Township, Halton. Her father was born in Ireland and her mother was born in England. She married Peter Eugene Kelly (1863-1943) on September 22, 1886, in Clarkson, Ontario. After her marriage, she moved to her husband's property located on Lot 33, Con. 2 SDS, in the village of Sheridan, Toronto Township, Peel (historic Mississauga). Their residence, a two-storey, 8-room brick home, was located on the north end of their property. They had three children during their marriage: Elizabeth Mary (1888-1975), William Robert (1889-1975) and Catherine Beatrice (1893-1984). She died on October 6, 1933, in Peel, Ontario, at the age of 69. She is buried at Springbank Cemetey in Clarkson. |
