Hillcrest Public School |
Details |
Hillcrest Public School was built in 1876 on the top of a hill at Fifth Line and Middle Road (becoming Southdown Road and Queen Elizabeth Way) in Clarkson. The red schoolhouse became known as "Hillcrest". The land was expropriated in 1957 by the province for the Queen Elizabeth Way. The empty building became landlocked, and was demolished. Hillcrest Middle School on Clarkson’s Springwell Avenue is named in its memory. |
