History |
Ross Leslie Greeniaus (1901-1986) is pictured here with his aunt Sophronia Amelia Greeniaus (1858-1909), who was his father Charles Wesley Greeniaus's sister, and his great aunt Jane Amanda Greeniaus (1831-1908) who was his grandfather Johann Peter Greeniaus's sister. The picture was taken circa 1908 when Ross was about 7 years old, and before the passing of both women in 1908 and 1909, respectively. Further, both women are dressed in mourning black as they were widowed in 1901 (Sophronia) and 1908 (Jane Amanda). At this time, the two women were the living elders of the extended Greeniaus family. The donor's family named the subjects Ross Greeniaus, Sophrona Chamberlain (married name of Sophronia Amelia Greeniaus), and Amanda Freeman (married name of Jane Amanda Greeniaus). |
