Biography |
William Gaylord Greeniaus was born on July 31, 1870, in Toronto Township (historic Mississauga), Ontario. He is the son of Gaylord Greeniaus and Catherine Jane Kenney of Sheridan village. William Gaylord was named after his father Gaylord. He had two brothers and four sisters. In his youth, William was a member of the Sheridan Wesleyan Methodist Church's Young People's Group, which served as a social club that occasionally organized fundraisers for the church and other charitable causes. William worked on the Greeniaus farm, where he was raised, for his whole life. He farmed the land that had been in his family since his great grandfather, Sebastian Greeniaus, acquired the land grant.
