Biography |
Charles Welsey Greeniaus was born in 1866 in Toronto Township (historic Mississauga), Ontario. He was the son of Gaylord Greeniaus and Catherine Jane Kenney of the historic village of Sheridan. Historic censuses list Charles and his two sons as German because their ancestors were German immigrants. In his youth, Charles was a member of the Sheridan Wesleyan Methodist Church's Young People's Group, which served as a social club that occasionally organized fundraisers for the church and other charitable causes. He married Catherine Margaret Sloan on January 15, 1896, in Toronto Township, Ontario. They had two children during their marriage. Charles was a farmer and they raised their children on their farm in Clarkson, Toronto Township. Later, his son Ross would join him as a farmer in Clarkson. Charles died on December 5, 1929, in Peel, Ontario, at the age of 63. |
